EVA Voice Biometrics Enables Lambda SnapStart for Quicker Cold Starts
[SYDNEY, NSW, December 8, 2022] – Auraya, a voice intelligence company, announces today that it has enabled AWS Lambda SnapStart for its EVA Voice Biometrics offering.
Lambda SnapStart aims to solve multiple cold start issues during the ‘Init’ phase of a Lambda function. These issues can include expensive language runtime initialization and prolonged cold starts due to the static code downloading machine learning models, pre-computing reference data, or establishing network connections to other AWS services.
Lambda SnapStart optimizes the ‘Init’ phase by caching the initialization for the Lambda functions at deployment time so that it can be retrieved and loaded for reuse. This significantly reduces the time taken for a Lambda function to be executed from a plain cold start.
EVA Voice Biometrics benefits from this new feature as it requires a certain amount of data to be pre-loaded before it can process some of its voice biometric operations. With Lambda SnapStart, EVA Voice Biometrics can be deployed as a Lambda function without load balancers or scaling groups, while still being redundant and scalable. Overall, optimizing the cold starts of Lambda functions improves the cost-effectiveness and responsiveness of EVA Voice Biometrics.
