[SYDNEY, NSW, October 2019] – Auraya announces today the deployment of EVA voice biometrics into a global financial organisation for fraud detection purposes.
EVA, the Amazon Connect extension for voice biometrics, has been activated to protect the customers of a leading financial services organisation in their North American, European and Asia-Pacific business operations. EVA listens to every call received by their contact centres and identifies if any caller matches the voiceprint of known fraudsters.
Over recent years, the organisation has recorded many calls to its call centres that were subsequently found to be fraudulent calls. The fraudsters use a range of techniques to take over the accounts of legitimate customers or create accounts in the name of innocent victims. Auraya assisted the global financial services organisation to create voiceprints from these historical call recordings.
These ‘known fraudsters’ often perpetuate the same type of fraud many times over. Sometimes the same fraudster can be identified operating in different parts of the world. With EVA, these fraudulent callers are identified, and the organisation can instigate steps in real-time to prevent the fraud. This process not only saves the organisation money but, more importantly, now protects their innocent customers from the inconvenience and frustration of having their identity compromised and their funds tied up in disputed transactions.
The next phase of the project is to use EVA to reduce friction and inconvenience of regular customers when they need to verify their identity either in contact centre calls or when they need to engage ‘step up’ or ‘second-factor’ verification in their digital channels.
